Straightforward Installation With the Right Preparation
The Soft Bed HT 4GS has been designed as a rolled system that can be installed efficiently across prepared concrete stalls. Installation isn’t complicated, but preparation and correct tensioning matter.
Your concrete surface needs to be level, firm, clean, dry, and free from holes, bumps, or raised edges. The rubber cover also needs time to reach a consistent temperature before installation. The inBarn installation guide specifies at least 48 hours on the installation surface, or seven days at room temperature, and installation shouldn’t take place below 10°C (50°F).
The installation process generally involves:
- 1. Protecting the composite foam from moisture with the specified foil system, unless pre-wrapped foam is being used
- 2. Positioning the composite foam sheets tightly together
- 3. Unrolling and aligning the continuous rubber top cover
- 4. Fastening the first end of the cover to the concrete
- 5. Tensioning the cover by approximately 1 to 1.5 percent
- 6. Fastening the opposite end
- 7. Securing the cover along the remaining head and foot edges
